Key Responsibilities- Coding: Review medical records to determine accurate code assignment for diagnoses and procedures, adhering to Official Coding Guidelines and Standards of Ethical Coding.
- Abstracting: Extract relevant clinical information from medical records to support accurate coding and billing.
- Coding Quality: Maintain high coding accuracy rates, ensuring consistency in selecting principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and abstracting elements.
- Coder Productivity: Meet or exceed Conifer's inpatient coding productivity guidelines.
- Physician Queries: Create compliant and effective physician retrospective coding queries.
- Professional Development: Stay current with AHA Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines, CMS directives, and other industry updates.
- 1-3 years of experience in inpatient coding in an acute care setting.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- AHIMA RHIT or RHIA or AAPC CCS approved credential required.
- Competitive hourly rate: $24.82-$37.23.
- Signing bonus for qualified new hires.
