The Shoe Carnival, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and facilities operations of our Distribution Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the equipment and facilities are properly maintained, with minimal unplanned downtime.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage and lead a team of Industrial Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Leads to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide mentoring, direction, and ongoing training and development to team members.
  • Identify and communicate procedural changes, special instructions, and other pertinent information to team members.
  • Proactively identify and recommend changes to correct system-related issues, resulting in improved efficiency.
  • Manage and negotiate vendor contracts regarding the purchase of maintenance supplies and service agreements.
  • Coordinate capital purchases with DC management.
  • Maintain an accurate parts inventory using maintenance management software to ensure that downtime does not result from inadequate inventory.
  • Maintain maintenance records for order picker and reach truck fleet.
  • Oversee janitorial services for the facility to ensure that a safe and clean environment is maintained.
  • Ensure facility and equipment meet safety standards set forth by the DC and OSHA.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement solutions.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify current and potential maintenance needs; recommend equipment upgrades or modification to improve performance and/or reliability.
  • Create operational system designs to promote efficiency.
  • Compose reports regarding operational performance.
  • Continuously researches new vendors in search of possible upgrades, cost efficiencies and performance enhancements.
  • Create and maintain annual maintenance and facilities budget.
  • Partner with Distribution Center Director on scheduling downtime.

**Requirements**

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years maintenance experience in a distribution or production environment required.
  • Experience leading teams preferred.
  • Proficient with Programmable Logic Controllers and working knowledge of electrical concepts.
  • Experience with Warehouse Control Systems.
  • Experience in OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of fire protection pumping system and testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to operate power tools, hand held tools, and lift trucks.
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, operation manuals, etc.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at various heights, and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to work necessary hours to complete projects/tasks, On-Call for Maintenance Staff 24/7/365.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills to include oral, written, and interpersonal.
