The Opportunity

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Clinical Advancement Program has been designed to acknowledge and reward clinical proficiency and professional development based on established criteria. This application process aims to foster accountability, independence, and teamwork, leading to enhanced job satisfaction and organizational loyalty.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is dedicated to advancing excellence in respiratory care, thereby improving patient care quality and satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

There are four tiers within the RCP Clinical Advancement Program. Candidates will be positioned on the ladder according to their years of experience, educational background, state and national certifications, competencies, training certificates, continuing education units, and contributions to the organization.

Selection Process

RCP Clinical Advancement Program Portfolio Submission:
Interested Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPII) must complete this application, which will serve as your portfolio for program evaluation.

Portfolio contents should include the following items:
  • Completed Employee Portfolio (Click APPLY to get started)
Upload in PDF format with your application:
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • Licenses, certificates, credentials, etc.
  • Degree(s)
  • Proof of quarterly CEUs
  • Most recent WPE
Review Committee Evaluation Process:
The evaluation will involve the following steps:
  1. The submitted portfolio will be assessed by committee members.
  2. The applicant will be contacted to arrange an interview with the Committee to discuss their current practice.
  3. All committee recommendations for program admission or advancement to a higher level are subject to the review and approval of the ARMC Chief Executive Officer or their designee.
  4. The chairperson or their designee will meet with the participant to discuss the evaluation outcomes and provide feedback to support the participant's professional development.
  5. Selected participants who meet and maintain all program requirements shall receive a Clinical Advancement differential above their base hourly rate for all paid hours, up to their standard hours per pay period.
The RCP Clinical Advancement Review Committee consists of:
  • Associate Hospital Administrator
  • Director or Assistant Director of Respiratory Care Services
  • One (1) Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Two (2) Active Respiratory Care Practitioner IIs
  • One (1) Representative from Human Resources
All submitted materials will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Review Frequency:
A completed portfolio must be submitted one (1) month prior to the scheduled review periods held every April and October, as follows:
  • Activities performed between October 1 and March 31
    • Submit by March 31 for the April Review
  • Activities performed between April 1 and September 30
    • Submit by September 30 for the October Review
If any items are missing from your portfolio, you will be notified, and your application may be held pending completion.
