The Role

The County of San Bernardino is seeking a Per Diem Hospital Dietitian responsible for conducting comprehensive nutritional evaluations, providing dietary consultations, and delivering specialized dietary guidance within a healthcare setting. The Dietitian will create and execute tailored nutritional care plans based on individual assessments and collaborate with medical professionals to ensure optimal nutritional support for patients. This role also involves monitoring and assessing patients receiving enteral or parenteral nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure appropriate dietary interventions.
  • Evaluate and monitor patients on specialized nutrition support.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers regarding nutritional care.

Conditions of Employment

Pre-Employment Process: Selected candidates must complete a background check and verify their employment history and educational qualifications.

Appointment: This is a Per Diem position, which does not confer regular County employee status. Working in this capacity does not prevent candidates from applying for regular positions within the County.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Registered Dietitian.

Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt across various clinical settings, possess problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Experience in acute care settings is highly preferred.
