Perioperative Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our team at the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians. As a Perioperative Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our Outpatient Surgical Center.
About the Role:- Coordinate patient care activities in the perioperative setting, providing necessary support to the surgeon within pre, intra, and post-operative phases of care.
- Provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients in the department.
- Collects, interprets, records, and communicates pertinent data relative to the patient's peri-anesthesia and peri-operative care.
- Initiates and implements patient care plans and maintains evidence-based standards of patient care.
- Performs routine lab testing, including but not limited to: blood glucose monitoring, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Assists the surgeon with procedures and minor surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and setting up of sterile field.
- Promotes a culture of safety when providing care.
- Accurately and promptly implements physician's orders.
- Administers medications and intravenous solutions safely and correctly.
- Administers conscious sedation to patients under the supervision of the doctor performing the case as requested.
- Bachelor's degree, Associate's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure.
- Two to three years of clinical experience in a clinical setting.
- CPR and ACLS required.
