Job Summary

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Attorney's Investigator to join our team. As a sworn peace officer, you will assist prosecutors in preparing and organizing cases for court, including locating missing witnesses and organizing evidence for presentation at trial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations, gathering and reviewing evidence, and interviewing witnesses and suspects.
  • Research law enforcement databases and obtain certified out-of-county court documents.
  • Prepare investigative reports, diagrams, and charts, and testify in court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure thorough investigations.
  • Participate in community meetings and events, and perform outreach to local community groups.

Requirements

  • Combination of education and experience in criminology, penology, police science, or a closely related field.
  • Valid Peace Officer Basic Certificate issued by the State of California Commission on Peace Officers Standards (POST).
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
