Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant District Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our office, you will be responsible for prosecuting felony cases, conducting investigations, and providing expert advice to law enforcement agencies. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively work with victims, witnesses, and defendants, ensuring a fair and just outcome in every case.
Key Responsibilities- Prosecute felony cases in the San Francisco Superior Court, including jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and other court proceedings.
- Represent the People of the State of California in court, preparing and presenting written petitions, motions, appeals, and other court documents.
- Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and write legal briefs in conjunction with assigned cases and trials.
- Maintain accurate records of warrants, citations, and case files, ensuring timely and efficient prosecution of cases.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, community-based organizations, and neighborhood groups to promote public education and crime prevention efforts.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and be a member of the State Bar Association.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Experience in criminal law, with a focus on felony cases and white-collar crimes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases and deadlines.
The City and County of San Francisco offers a competitive salary range of $147,914 - $259,142, commensurate with experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement plan.
