Developmental Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Developmental Specialist to join our team in Idaho Falls, Idaho. As a Developmental Specialist, you will play a critical role in strengthening the health, safety, and independence of Idahoans.
Job SummaryThis position serves children from birth to age three with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. You will work closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide early intervention services, coaching, and consultation on child development issues.
Responsibilities- Evaluate infants and toddlers with potential delays or disabilities to assist in determining eligibility for services.
- Plan, model, and implement early intervention services with families/caregivers to support participation and progressive development of infants and toddlers in their natural environments.
- Provide consultation to families, professionals, and associated parties related to child development.
- Select, administer, analyze, and interpret assessment instruments to determine children's skill development in areas of gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, social and emotional, adaptive/self-help, and communication.
- Develop and review functional goals with families for individualized family-centered service plans.
- Conduct intervention sessions with caregivers in child's natural environments using regularly occurring routines as curriculum.
- Participate in multidisciplinary staffing to plan intervention services for eligible children based on child's strengths and needs and family interests, functional goal objectives, and collaborative teaming.
- Train in and apply specific developmental therapy and behavior management methods with parents during in-person and/or virtual early intervention sessions.
- Exceptional Child Certificate with Special Education Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or an Elementary Education Certificate (K-12) with Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or a Blended Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Certificate.
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following required degree fields: special education, elementary education, speech-language pathology, early childhood education, physical therapy, psychology, social work, or nursing.
- A minimum of 24 credits in Early Childhood Special Education that specifically address the following EC/ECSE standards: Promoting Development and Learning for Children Birth to 3; Building Family and Community Relationship to Support Early Interventions and Early Education; Observing, Documenting and Assessing to Support Young Families and Children; Using Developmentally Effective Approaches for Early Learning; Content and Knowledge in Early Education and Early Childhood Special Education; and Building Meaningful Curriculum, to Include Development of IFSPs and IEPs.
