Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and health of laboratory animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care for research animals, including feeding, watering, enrichment, and cage cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for animals, including rooms, isolators, and equipment.
  • Track animal health and report any concerns to management.
  • Assist with animal handling and procedures according to SOPs and protocols.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, use equipment properly, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies.
  • Conduct euthanasia procedures as trained and per AVMA guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate degree in animal science or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in laboratory animal care or agriculture is desirable.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, roll heavy objects, use ladders, and work in various temperature conditions.
  • Willingness to work with animals and be exposed to potential allergens, odors, and noise.
  • Must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Successful completion of an enhanced background check and FIT test.
