Job Description
Overview
The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources within the School of Medicine supports animal research for various studies, including cancer, organ transplant, antibody, ophthalmic, and flu. As a Comparative Medicine Specialist I, you will be responsible for providing husbandry to laboratory animals, maintaining animal inventory records, and performing facility sanitation. This position requires weekend and holiday work hours and involves daily exposure to laboratory animals and their waste products.
Responsibilities
- Provide husbandry to laboratory animals
- Maintain animal inventory records
- Perform facility sanitation
- Work in a team environment to ensure the health and well-being of laboratory animals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in animal husbandry or a related field
