About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Health Officer to join our team at APTIM. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering safety, health, and environmental protection prevention programs that ensure employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection, and equipment and property protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and USACE EM.
  • Conduct daily field safety oversight and support to construction crews conducting demolition, rigging, material handling, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Provide technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and/or company environmental, safety, and health regulations.
  • Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety, and health standards are followed.
  • Recommend facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals.
  • Establish and maintain licenses and permits as required.
Requirements
  • Three years of related experience in a safety and health role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental health and safety, or a closely related field.
  • Recognized safety certification, such as CHST, ASP, or CSP.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
