Townsen Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Charge Entry professional to join our team. As a Charge Entry Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing of medical services provided to our patients.

Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously enter billing and insurance data into our system, ensuring that all details are correct and up-to-date. This includes monitoring and inputting patient demographics and authorizations, verifying charge codes, OR times, and surgeons, and initiating and resolving billing errors promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter accurate billing and insurance data into our system
  • Monitor and input patient demographics and authorizations
  • Verify charge codes, OR times, and surgeons for accurate billing
  • Initiate and resolve billing errors in a timely manner
  • Communicate any issues to management for swift resolution
  • Review documentation thoroughly to support charges based on coding and billing guidelines
  • Verify pricing and quantities of supplies for billing purposes
  • Request new charge codes when necessary for billing processes
  • Reconcile charges daily to avoid any missing charges
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and management for accurate charge submission
  • Utilize reconciliation tools for compliant billing
  • Assist in monitoring billing compliance and staff education
  • Support special projects by collecting and summarizing data
  • Perform other duties as assigned
