Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician at Memorial Hermann Health System, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Under the direction of a licensed clinician, you will assist with delegated direct and indirect patient care tasks, ensuring the well-being and safety of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with delegated direct and indirect patient care tasks, including taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and obtaining lab specimens.
  • Monitor patient intake and output, and maintain related records.
  • Identify and respond to abnormal findings, reporting to the patient's nurse or charge nurse immediately.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and safe environment, including filling ice pitchers, changing linens, and keeping beds neat and clean.
  • Assist in the orientation of new PCAs, serving as a resource and providing guidance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support or Heartsaver CPR with AED within 90 days of employment.
  • One (1) year patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
