Texas Oncology is a leading provider of community-based cancer care, seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to join our team in Katy, Texas. This role will support our location on the west side of Houston, near the Energy Corridor, and will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience.

As an Advanced Practice Professional, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care to patients with cancer or related diagnoses. This will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients, as well as initiating and documenting appropriate interventions. You will also be responsible for promoting wellness and recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs.

We use leading-edge technology and research to deliver care, and our team prides itself on high-quality, individualized patient-centered care for each patient we serve.

Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients
Initiate and document appropriate interventions
Perform procedures after appropriate training
Assess patient/family needs and provide education
Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs
Incorporate developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice
Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements
Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Alternatively, a Physician Assistant with a successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA certification may also be considered. Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience, while Level 2 requires 3 years of experience and Level Sr requires 6 years of experience. Current state licensure and basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification are also required.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extensive periods of time, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs, and requiring corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The work environment for this role includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
