Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team at Long Island Community Hospital. As a Per Diem RN, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary health team to meet the holistic needs of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Collect patient health data by involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers
  • Perform initial assessments based on patient presentation
  • Record relevant data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment
  • Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
  • Collaborate with the patient, family, and appropriate healthcare providers in developing the plan of care
  • Implement the plan of care for each patient and perform appropriate patient monitoring
  • Adapt nursing procedures to meet the needs of individual patients
  • Provide education to patients and families utilizing the educational assessment
  • Recognize hazards to patient safety and take action to maintain a safe environment
Requirements
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of a two-year training at an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current New York State license or Permit as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity
  • Practice reflects customer service excellence
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written format
  • Analytical ability to assess and develop solutions to clinical situations or unit problems
