Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join their Procurement Quality Support Engineering (PQSE) group in York, Pennsylvania. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in resolving supplier quality concerns and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and resolve supplier quality issues through defect investigations, trend analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct containment and inventory screenings as necessary to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements.
  • Support multiple projects to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance improvement.
  • Enforce purchase order requirements, manage supplier non-conformance, and drive corrective action through thorough root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Assurance, Receiving Inspection, Procurement, Engineering, and Program Quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related work experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems, as well as AS9102B First Article Requirements.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with suppliers.
  • Understanding of drawings requirements and ability to determine compliance.
  • Experience with Quality gauges and measuring tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in Defense Prime Contract environment.
  • Experience with product line validation, test plans, test equipment, and product qualification.
  • Specific experience in manufacturing processes such as forgings, castings, foundries, machining, welding, brazing, finishes, coatings, nondestructive testing, fabrication, composites, electrical/electronics, and other common processes in the Naval, Defense, and Aerospace industries.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools, as well as Toyota Production System (TPS) and Toyota Way.
