We are seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Specialist to play a vital role in our expanding team. As a certified technician, you will be essential in delivering an exceptional customer experience by accurately diagnosing vehicle issues and performing necessary repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as specified in the repair order, ensuring efficiency and adherence to dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors and parts personnel throughout the vehicle inspection and repair process to manage customer expectations regarding parts availability, repair costs, and completion timelines.
- Conduct comprehensive multi-point inspections to provide precise recommendations for repairs and maintenance, ensuring vehicles are safe and reliable before returning them to customers.
- Thoroughly document all work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic procedures, along with the rationale for the work completed.
- Maintain up-to-date training in accordance with General Motors requirements.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment to comply with shop standards.
- Properly check out and return all shop tools, ensuring they are clean and ready for use by fellow technicians.
- Stay informed on factory technical bulletins and repair documentation.
- Enhance customer loyalty and shop revenue by delivering outstanding repair experiences.
- Provide constructive feedback to management to facilitate smooth shop operations.
- Assist less experienced technicians as needed to maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old to work in the Service Center.
- Possession of a valid US-issued Driver's License is required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks and motor vehicle records.
- ASE or OEM Certification is highly preferred.
- Capability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Experience with shop equipment, including lifts, diagnostic tools, and hand tools.
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or equivalent work experience is necessary.
- Demonstrated professionalism and a strong work ethic, with a high level of integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for documenting repairs.
- Attention to detail is crucial in all aspects of the role.
- Adherence to Union requirements, including payment of dues as per Local guidelines.
