We are seeking a highly skilled Linux/Unix System Administrator to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and security of our Linux and Unix systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain Linux and Unix systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our systems, including patch management, access control, and incident response.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions, including network architecture, storage, and backup systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, networking, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Integrated AD authentication (Kerberos, LDAP and/or Centrify)
- Experience with SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, Samba and NIX system security
- Experience with infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity products like Symantec NetBackup and experience with security infrastructure products and capabilities (e.g. Antivirus)
- Experience gathering requirements, designing, and implementing appropriate solutions, application installation and multi-server environment/deployment and IT incident/service request system
- Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis, storage hardware support and diagnosis
- Automation via scripting - file replication, file system tuning, upgrading and configuring
- Experience with HP server and storage hardware and knowledge of NAS and/or SAN (e.g. NetApp), experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter technologies
- Familiar with Splunk & Centrify products, BASH Scripting and Ansible
- CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Linux/Unix System Administrator
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $179,000, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
