Job Summary

As a Senior Linux Principal System Administrator at Raytheon Technologies, you will lead and manage a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section. Your experience in leadership and managerial duties will be essential in resource management, talent interviewing and training, and onboarding new hires. You will supervise administrators who set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate mass storage space. You will develop and monitor policies, standards, processes, and goals for direct reports, coordinate system administrative support for training development/evaluations and operations and sustainment plans, and participate in Change Request reviews. You will also participate in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in functional area matters. You will provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. You must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date. Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. Travel is required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate, up to 10% per year. This is a full-time, 100% onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section.
Develop and monitor policies, standards, processes, and goals for direct reports.
Coordinate system administrative support for training development/evaluations and operations and sustainment plans.
Participate in Change Request reviews.
Participate in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in functional area matters.
Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.
Travel to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate, up to 10% per year.

Requirements

Typically, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or 12 years of directly related experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with some but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, AWS, MySQL, Remote Desktop Gateway, and Netwrix.
Prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, Windows administration, or Mac OS experience, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF and handling classified information.
Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
Industry certifications including but not limited to: Security+, CISSP, ITIL, ISC2, PMP.
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
