Job Overview

Position Summary

The Worship Connections Manager will assist the Executive Worship Director at James River Church. This individual will concentrate on the processes related to team connections, the growth and recruitment of musicians, and the coordination of quarterly gatherings for the team. Additionally, this role will ensure quality control for worship across all youth venues of James River Church, manage social media for the Worship department, support special projects for events, and provide pastoral care to the Worship team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and recruitment of the Worship Dream Team across all campuses:

- Provide comprehensive oversight and quality assurance for the Dream Team processes.

- Create and execute a recruitment strategy for both national and international talent.

- Collaborate with educational institutions to establish a recruitment pipeline for high school students.

- Oversee monthly auditions and track the ongoing development of the Worship Dream Team.

- Monitor monthly statistics related to the Worship Dream Team.

  • Organize Worship and Production Team Nights:

- Ensure that each team night reflects the spiritual vitality of the church.

- Guarantee that every team night is a high-quality and creative experience.

- Collaborate with the Worship Department Calendar to schedule 1-2 Team Nights each quarter.

- Work with the Worship Director to design the order of service and organize the event.

- Ensure quality attendance by engaging with team members and establishing accountability measures.

  • Assist in managing the Worship and Production Event Budgets.
  • Develop a communication and coordination system to ensure a sufficient number of high-quality team members are available for each venue throughout the year.
  • Regularly lead and visit venues to ensure quality, provide coaching, and promote the culture of James River Church.
  • Oversee the Youth Worship Leaders to maintain quality across all youth venues.

- Review rosters with the Worship Dream Team Coordinator.

- Collaborate with the Youth Pastor and Worship Director on monthly set lists and new song integration.

- Provide coaching and feedback to the Youth Worship teams.

- Attend weekly rehearsals.

  • Lead worship in designated venues as directed by the Worship Director.
  • Assist the Worship Director in selecting new worship songs for introduction.
  • Manage social media platforms for James River Worship.
  • Support the Worship Director with special projects and events.
  • Assist with various events such as:

- Designed for Life Conference

- Sisterhood Nights

- Christmas Production

- Easter

- Vision Sunday

- Stronger Men's Conference

- Back to School Night

- Life Group Leaders Connect

  • Recruit and oversee hosts for special talents during events.
  • Serve as Team Lead for special event projects as directed by the Worship Director.
  • Provide pastoral care for all Worship Dream Team members as directed by the Worship Director and Senior Associate Pastor.
  • Coordinate the James River Church Songwriting Team and music releases under the guidance of the Executive Ministries Pastor and Worship Director.

- Create schedules for songwriting team meetings.

- Establish processes for song preparation and vetting.

- Set deadlines for song production and ensure compliance with church guidelines.

- Oversee the production of songs for release.

  • Participate actively in all necessary meetings as determined by the Worship Director.
  • Respond promptly to all email communications from team members and direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in worship leadership and pastoral roles.
  • Strong vocal abilities in both melody and harmony.
  • Musically knowledgeable and accomplished.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead across multiple generations.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain A/G credentials.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with modern office practices and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit good judgment, integrity, and punctuality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
