Senior Radiologic Procedures Specialist

The Chief Technologist for Diagnostic Imaging oversees the daily functions of radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, and surgical imaging, ensuring the smooth operation of the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organizes and manages staffing for surgical, radiological, and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Oversees break and meal schedules, evaluating staffing requirements and adjusting as necessary based on workload.
• Supervises transcription personnel and assesses the quality of clinic imaging.
• Enhances patient throughput and confirms billing accuracy.
• Reviews and enforces departmental protocols and guidelines.
• Maintains imaging equipment and supplies, conducts quality assurance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
• Addresses educational and training requirements for both staff and students.
• Coordinates student activities and contributes to staff evaluations.
• Takes on additional duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
An Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of three years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with significant experience or additional training in diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgical imaging, and advanced modalities preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Must hold a current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(R)) and a valid radiation operator's certification (general license) from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. CPR certification is required within thirty days of employment. Additional registry or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (RT(R)(T)) is preferred.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and remain on their feet for extended periods. The ability to tolerate personal protective equipment (PPE) for prolonged durations is necessary.
