The Chief Technologist of Diagnostic Imaging oversees the daily management of radiographic examinations, fluoroscopic procedures, and surgical imaging, ensuring the smooth operation of the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organizes and assigns personnel for surgical, radiological, and fluoroscopic services.

• Manages staff schedules, including breaks and meal times, while evaluating staffing requirements based on workload demands.

• Supervises transcription personnel and assesses the quality of clinical imaging.

• Enhances patient throughput and confirms billing accuracy.

• Reviews and enforces departmental protocols and guidelines.

• Ensures the maintenance of equipment and supplies, conducts quality assurance, and initiates continuous improvement strategies.

• Addresses educational and training requirements for both staff and students.

• Facilitates student engagements and contributes to performance evaluations of staff.

• Takes on additional duties as necessary.

Educational Qualifications:
An Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Professional Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with significant experience or further education in diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgical imaging, and advanced modalities preferred.

Licensure and Certification:
Must possess a current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(R)) and a valid radiation operator's certification (general license) from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. CPR certification is required within thirty days of employment. Additional certification or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (RT(R)(T)) is preferred.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and remain on their feet for extended periods. Tolerance for personal protective equipment (PPE) for prolonged durations is necessary.
