Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient medical histories and vital signs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and maintain patient treatment areas, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and supplies.
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including administering medications and taking vital signs.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to veterinarians.
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including blood draws and urinalyses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges, including preparing patients for surgery and recovery.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in veterinary medicine.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification in New York required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with veterinarians, clients, and other team members.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and stooping.
