Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Tufts Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including personal hygiene, elimination, catheter care, vital signs, and skin care and mobility activities.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
- Reinforce belongings policy with patients and families, document appropriately, and secure belongings according to procedure.
- Assist with feedings as needed and document I&O and weight as required.
- Perform selected and therapeutic procedures as outlined in competency and skills checklist.
- Cooperate with members of the healthcare team to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee, inter-departmental, and public relations.
- Set up equipment for and/or assist physicians/clinicians with treatments, dressings, tests, etc., as assigned.
- Obtain, document, process, and accurately label all specimens according to HHS policy at the bedside.
- Participate in purposeful hourly rounding of patients in accordance with standards of excellence.
- Ensure proper identification by verifying wristband and date of birth prior to providing any care or performing any test or treatment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or Nursing student with clinical experience.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Four (4) years of healthcare experience and nursing service experience (preferred).
