Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy to enhance innovation capabilities across the organization. Advance commercially viable innovations through a structured commercialization framework. Establish a process for intellectual property disclosures to capture innovative concepts from internal stakeholders as they emerge. Utilize tools and technologies to bolster organizational capabilities.
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee Cottage Health initiatives and workshops, guiding significant projects through established protocols for refinement, development, and implementation. Manage the development and maintenance of Cottage Health's patent portfolio and intellectual property database in partnership with the Cottage Research Institute.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Transform innovation and continuous improvement methodologies into practical toolkits that can be utilized across various business functions to address challenges and seize opportunities. Continuously enhance systems, processes, and tools to institutionalize and structure innovation throughout the organization.
  • Training and Development: Organize enterprise-wide training programs to support innovation processes and tools, fostering capabilities among innovation practitioners. Cultivate a culture that leverages an innovation toolkit across the organization to enhance capacity, swiftly capture opportunities, and address challenges.
  • Financial Oversight: Responsible for developing and managing budgets, financial forecasting, and demonstrating exceptional project management skills, ensuring successful project delivery in accordance with budgetary expectations and strategic goals.

Qualifications:

All qualifications listed represent the minimum requirements necessary to perform this role effectively.

Educational Background:

Required: An advanced degree (Master's level in business, law, or a related field) or substantial relevant experience.

Technical Expertise:

Required: Proven experience in leadership roles within technology-focused organizations.

Relevant Experience:

Required: A minimum of three years of pertinent experience in areas such as business management, innovation, strategic ventures, program development, patent preparation/review, and licensing agreements.
