Job Overview

The Diesel Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.

This is a Monday - Friday, first shift position with a competitive hourly rate of $25.00/hr. (based on education, experience, # of OEM certifications, skill set, etc.) + UNCAPPED Service Technician Incentive Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition
  • Complete preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment available for use
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school or college education in a diesel technology program preferred
  • 2+ years related work experience preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge required
  • Valid Driver's License required; CDL preferred (must be willing to obtain)
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required
