This company seeks a Senior Manager, Consumer Market Insights to work on a hybrid schedule (four days on-site, one open day remote) at the company's campus HQ location in Nassau County, New York.

This is a hybrid opportunity, so only candidates accessible to Nassau County, New York or Western Long Island/Queens, N.Y. will be considered for this role. Relocation support could also be eligible for qualified candidates.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for driving consumer-centric strategies by providing actionable insights derived from market research and category sales analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Research: Conduct extensive market research to gather data on consumer preferences, buying patterns, and demographic trends within the beauty categories (Cosmetics, Hair, etc.). This includes analyzing sales data, conducting surveys, and monitoring social media channels to identify emerging trends and consumer sentiments.
  • Consumer Behavior Analysis: Identify key factors driving purchasing decisions by studying consumer behavior. This may include factors such as price sensitivity, brand loyalty, ingredient preferences, and the influence of influencers and celebrities.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors to understand their product offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing tactics. This helps in identifying areas of opportunity and potential threats to the brand's market share.
  • Product Development Insights: Guide product development efforts with consumer insights gathered. By understanding consumer needs and preferences, the position can provide valuable input to product development teams to create new products or improve existing ones.
  • Marketing Strategy: Inform marketing strategies tailored to the target audience within the beauty category. This includes identifying the most effective channels for reaching consumers, crafting messaging that resonates with their needs and desires, and developing promotional campaigns that drive engagement and sales.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Based on consumer insights and market trends, the position helps in forecasting demand for beauty products and planning inventory levels accordingly. This ensures that the brand can meet consumer demand while minimizing excess inventory or stockouts.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Provide recommendations for enhancing the overall customer experience. This may include optimizing packaging design, improving product formulations, or enhancing the online shopping experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related roles in beauty category or CPG industry.
  • Korean language proficiency is preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful consumer research strategies that drive business impact.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate insights to diverse stakeholders. Korean language proficiency is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking mindset and a passion for innovation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
