Corporate Legal Counsel

East Penn Manufacturing Co. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to provide legal support and counseling services to company management in connection with a variety of corporate legal matters.

• Commercial Counsel: Draft and advise on a wide range of agreements, including vendor, technology, real estate, consulting, sales, and other commercial agreements.
• Litigation Management: Manage product claims and oversee all aspects of litigation, including response to document requests and discovery responses, review and edit motions, briefs, and memoranda from outside counsel.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay apprised of regulatory and other applicable federal, state, and international legal developments relevant to our business.
• External Counsel Management: Assist with the management of external counsel in a cost-effective manner.
• Contract Management: Leverage our contract management system and assist in contract template development.
• Business Partnership: Work closely with stakeholders across the Company to manage the Company's day-to-day legal and compliance needs.
• Risk Mitigation: Contribute to the Company's high growth by working with the business to efficiently and proactively identify ways to mitigate risk.
• Policy Development: Develop expertise in new areas to support the business, creating appropriate policies and training.

• 5-7 years' experience as in-house legal counsel and/or in private practice with a focus on the needs of a manufacturing client, contract review, commercial transactions, and real estate.
• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• License to practice in Pennsylvania must be current, active, and in good standing.

• Demonstrated strategic approach to legal problem solving; ability to analyze problems and formulate alternative/creative solutions to problems.
• Excellent contract drafting skills and familiarity with commercial agreements.
• Knowledge of and experience with litigation, insurance claims, and/or product claims is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in accordance with defined corporate risk parameters.
• Can effectively cope with ambiguity, is unafraid to respectfully challenge the status quo by providing new ideas and solutions.
• Strong thought leadership and business partnering skills at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information, ideas, and issues in a simple way to diverse audiences (written, verbal, and presentation abilities).

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, to prioritize client matters and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent through each task performed.
