About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Turbomachinery Bearings Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin, working on the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building advanced liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen pumps, with a focus on bearing specification, design, and procurement for multiple cryogenic pumps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop turbomachinery bearings for cryogenic applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate bearing designs into the overall system
  • Work with NASA and National Team Partners on the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
  • Participate in design reviews and testing
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in turbomachinery bearing design engineering
  • Experience in turbomachinery design, material selection, and tribology
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field
  • Experience with cryogenic applications
  • Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications
