- Manage media relations and messaging
- Support the mayor's policy advisors in all communications efforts

As a Communications Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Writing speeches, news releases, web content, newsletter articles, op-eds, and columns
- Serving as the editor for office communications
- Creating, managing, overseeing, and executing communication plans, materials, and programs
- Providing excellent project management and client service to city departments
- Leading and managing communication projects from planning to execution
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
- 7 years of professional experience in public/media relations in a political office, government entity, major corporation, or nonprofit agency
- Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, and techniques of public/community relations, media relations, social media, and program management
- Ability to organize, manage, collaborate, and execute multiple projects
- Ability to develop and execute strategic communication goals
