Position Overview
Join our team as a CNA 2 in the Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. This role involves working a .9 FTE night shift schedule, comprising three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute effectively to a collaborative team environment.
- Support Registered Nurses with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Monitor and document vital signs, fluid output, and weight measurements.
- Collect patient specimens and conduct fingerstick capillary blood tests.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, utilizing safe patient handling techniques.
- Engage in ongoing education and professional development opportunities, including an annual CNA conference.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The CNA 2/HUC plays a vital role within the nursing unit, providing essential administrative and technical support while collaborating with staff and leadership to ensure effective unit operations. This position encompasses CNA II patient care responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Health Unit Coordinator or secretarial coursework, including a medical terminology course, or one year of experience in a healthcare environment.
- Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements.
- Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Proficiency in various software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, ideally in CNA and/or Health Unit Coordinator roles.
- One year of experience as a CNA 2.
