As a Geology Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a mentor and a group of professionals in a business unit to interpret subsurface geoscience and related data to help with our hydrocarbon exploration and development projects.
Responsibilities- Interpret 3D seismic data to predict trap geometry and size
- Conduct sequence stratigraphic analysis of new exploration plays
- Perform detailed 3D seismic interpretation of known fields to select prospective drilling locations
- Generate prospect ideas and well proposals in various global locations
- Develop and evaluate development and recompletion opportunities in conventional and unconventional resource plays
- Model unconventional facies and rock types for hydraulic fracturing analysis
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related technical field
- Pursuing a Master's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related technical field
- Current level in college: Graduate Student
- Expected graduation date: Fall 2025 or later
- Available for internship start mid-late May 2025
- A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks' availability for internship
- Willing to work in Midland, TX, Houston, TX, or Anchorage, AK
- A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale
- Previous internships or co-op's in an energy-related field
- Geological focus with strong analytical/quantitative skills or Geophysical focus with strong Geological skills
- Ability to generate effective solutions based on available information and make timely decisions that are safe and ethical
- Develops positive relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
