Primary Care Physician for Underserved Communities

We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our team at TAL Healthcare, where you will play a vital role in improving the health of underserved communities in New York City.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate team dedicated to providing affordable healthcare services to those who need it most. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, performing initial assessments of mental health conditions, and prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in health promotion activities, recruitment efforts, and quality improvement projects that aim to deliver high-quality clinical care in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform initial assessment of mental health conditions (e.g., depression and anxiety disorders)
- Order and analyze necessary diagnostic tests using high-value care principles and evidence-based medicine (EBM) to inform clinical decision-making
- Prescribe appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the scope of licensure
- Advise patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings
- Participate in health promotion activities and recruitment efforts for the site
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient
- MD/DO degree required
- Board Eligible/Board Certified
- Current and valid NYS license
- Current DEA certificate
- Updated BLS and infection control certificate
- Bilingual, either Spanish/English or Mandarin/English, is a plus
- Knowledge of HIV medical care and LGBTQI care is a plus
