Job Summary:

The Behavioral Specialist will coordinate the implementation of our health district's Early Intervention Specialist instruction and assessment programs. This includes performing direct service, assessing development needs, summarizing results, designing program activities and instruction, and providing consultation on instructional strategies to families and service providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the implementation of Early Intervention Specialist instruction and assessment programs
  • Perform direct service, including assessing development needs and summarizing results
  • Design program activities and instruction, and provide consultation on instructional strategies to families and service providers
  • Participate as a member of the primary service provider team, maintaining knowledge of current trends for service provision for children with special needs
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience
  • OR One year of experience at the lower-level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood or Special Education
  • One (1) year of professional experience providing services to or teaching children under the age of 5
  • Experience administering a variety of standardized assessment tools
