Position Overview:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of both congenital and acquired organ and vascular conditions. This role involves performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Angio-Interventional radiology or Neuroradiology departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver procedural assistance for diverse patient interventions efficiently and effectively.
  • Operate advanced imaging systems for specialized procedures.
  • Implement safety measures to minimize radiation exposure for patients, colleagues, and oneself.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and protocols.
  • Maintain an image quality assurance error rate of less than 5%.
  • Oversee inventory management for necessary supplies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and education.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Compensation:

Position Compensation Range: $57.62 Hourly


Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiography program; an Associate's Degree in Radiography is preferred. Eligibility for ARRT (VI) certification is required.

Experience: Prior experience is necessary; a minimum of 2 years in Interventional Radiology is preferred.

Licensure: Must hold a Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.). ARRT (VI) certification must be obtained within one year of employment. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

This position necessitates prolonged periods of standing and sitting, frequent bending, stooping, and overhead reaching. Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and legible writing ability. The role may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy objects and exposure to various environmental factors.
