Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Southwest Women's Oncology. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefit package and great hours with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of third-party insurers, government payers, and physician billing and reimbursement guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on delinquent insurance claims in a timely manner
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, denials, and appeals on all accounts.
  • Answer patient questions regarding billing and payments.
  • Manage patient accounts and collections.
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in medical billing (Oncology experience preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of third-party insurers, government payers, physician billing and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Understanding of posted charges and payments
  • Experience with insurance precertification
  • Experience with insurance verification
  • Understands and follows CMS billing guidelines
  • Experience with Patient Advocacy programs
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to handle all phone calls in a professional, service-oriented manner
  • Oncology Experience is preferred, but not required.

Proficient in computer skills, Billing Software, Communication Skills, processing credit card payments, Microsoft Word, Excel
