KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily Operations: Engage in the execution of routine tasks and oversee volunteers as needed.
- Field Management:
- Navigate between research plots and production areas.
- Keep detailed logs for organic certification.
- Perform tillage, planting, and other essential field tasks including tractor operation and data collection.
- Landscaping Duties:
- Assist in the design and implementation of pollinator habitats.
- Ensure the campus maintains an attractive appearance.
- Prepare sites for various events, including weddings and tours.
- Livestock Care:
- Support research projects and assist in the maintenance of livestock facilities.
- Maintain logs for animal care and assist in data management.
- Perform feeding, watering, and other livestock-related tasks.
- Greenhouse Operations:
- Collaborate with specialists to execute production plans for greenhouse structures.
- Sales and Distribution:
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of farm products.
- Event Coordination:
- Help prepare venues for events and maintain aesthetic standards.
- Support facility management in setting up for various occasions.
- Orchard Management:
- Assist in the maintenance and care of orchards, including planting and harvesting tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in agricultural settings preferred.
- Compassionate approach to animal care.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining logs.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- Flexible availability to accommodate farm operations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability to lift and carry over 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Open to new ideas and approaches in agricultural practices.
