About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently inspecting a wide variety of standardized items or operations, requiring a substantial knowledge of construction inspection methods, equipment, material practices, and the ability to interpret varied requirements in drawings and specifications.

The Construction Inspector Specialist will be required to obtain information on schedules, work methods, and explain requirements of plans and specifications. He/she will make suggestions to the contractor on well-established acceptable methods and practices to assist in meeting standard requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation of Plans and Specifications: Interprets plans and specifications relating to construction problems of normal difficulty for which there are precedents.
  • Difference Resolution: Resolves differences between plans and specifications that do not involve questions of cost or engineering design.
  • Minor Deviation Approval: Provides authorization to approve minor deviations in construction methods and practices without cost change.
  • Final Decision-Making: Provides final decisions on construction methods and practices, workmanship, materials, and the finished product.
  • Inspection Report Review: Inspection reports are reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and adequacy.
Requirements
  • An Associate degree in engineering technology or science plus two years' experience in a related construction field.
  • Ability to work outside and inside, with minimum travel and overnight stays when working on offsite projects.
