The position is based in a dynamic environment that supports a wide range of laboratory testing procedures, including hematology, clinical chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and microbiology. As a Laboratory Science Specialist, you will be responsible for performing complex and specialized tests that require advanced knowledge and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Conduct essential laboratory tests and examinations, ensuring accuracy and reliability in results.
- Implement and document quality control measures to maintain high standards of laboratory operations.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Evaluate laboratory procedures for effectiveness and ensure proper specimen collection and identification.
- Prepare reagents and perform both routine and non-routine test procedures according to established protocols.
- Engage in external proficiency testing and respond to quality control inquiries from healthcare professionals.
- Assist in the training and development of new laboratory personnel and students.
