Job Title: Senior IT Specialist

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is a leading organization in the energy sector, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our computer applications and databases. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accurate and reliable functioning of our systems, which are essential to our daily operations and have a significant economic impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement computer applications and databases to support our business operations
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in IT application administration and support
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems, application development and support methodologies, and database management systems
  • Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in the utility industry
  • Experience with security systems, camera systems, and administering server-based applications
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with regular working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional extended hours may be necessary as part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.

This is a hybrid (2-3 days in office) position located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Minimal travel is required, typically 10% or less.
