Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Operations Specialist to join our team at MDW Associates in Tysons, VA. As a key member of our operations team, you will provide executive-level project and program support to our clients within the Department of Defense (DoD).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of government operations and be able to effectively communicate with senior leaders. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing research and analytical support to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Tracking and reporting on key documents and initiatives, including those related to regulatory compliance and FOIA requests.
  • Maintaining comprehensive governance calendars and meeting reports.
  • Developing agendas and read-aheads as necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining strategic initiative tracking and reporting.
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance-related matters and trends.
  • Aggregating and preparing data for agency reports and posting final reports to government websites.
  • Assisting with knowledge management and public-facing website management.
  • Supporting programs and activities related to the protection of individual civil liberties and privacy.
  • Providing analytical support for FOIA, privacy, and civil liberties programs.
  • Assisting with gathering and analyzing data, preparing presentations, and drafting documentation responses.
  • Assisting with the processing of FOIA appeals and reviewing significant FOIA cases.
  • Developing training materials and guides for DoD's FOIA, privacy, and civil liberties programs.
  • Coordinating, tracking, and monitoring tasks, actions, and projects using internal and external methods and tools.
  • Providing advice and collaborating with other administrative team personnel on suspense and tracking control methods.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience working within the DoD or other federal agencies, or as contract support to such agencies, with a focus on Federal regulatory, privacy, civil liberties, or FOIA programs.
  • Familiarity with and ability to interpret and apply DOD Directive 5148.13, Intelligence Oversight.
  • Skill in communicating with senior leaders, including interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening, and appropriate use of style and language.
  • The ability to interact with people at various levels within and outside the organization and obtain information.

Education and Clearance Requirements:

A bachelor's degree or higher is required, along with at least two years' work experience demonstrating skills and experience to provide executive-level project and program support. A valid Secret security clearance is also mandatory for this position.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
