Job Title: International Business Policies and Strategies Instructor

UCLA Extension is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on International Business Policies and Strategies. The ideal candidate will have current knowledge and teaching experience in the field of international business planning, management, and portfolio optimization, as well as global marketing, outsourcing, R&D decentralization, information systems design, and conflict resolution.

Course Description:

This course provides a systematic approach for determining, implementing, and evaluating the strategies and policies that govern a firm's international business activities. Topics include:

  • International business planning, management, and portfolio optimization
  • Global marketing and branding
  • Outsourcing and supply chain management
  • R&D decentralization and innovation
  • Information systems design and implementation
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation
Responsibilities:

The instructor will be responsible for:

  • Developing and/or updating course syllabus in consultation with the UCLA Extension Program Director
  • Preparing and delivering course materials and learning assessments
  • Utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System as the course support platform
  • Communicating teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to students
  • Evaluating student achievement of specific learning outcomes and assigning grades
  • Responding to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ten years of experience in the field of international business or a related field
  • An advanced degree from an accredited institution and five years of experience in the field
  • Current knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in subject area
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of instructional technology and online teaching tools
