Position Overview
The Field Claims Adjuster for Catastrophic Property is responsible for investigating and managing property and casualty claims. This role involves determining liability, gathering necessary information, reviewing coverage details, coordinating appraisals, and finalizing claims settlements. The position requires travel up to 75% as necessary.
Compensation
Position Compensation Range: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00
Pay Rate Type: Salary
Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic work location.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate the origin and cause of claims by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify complex issues and seek assistance when necessary, ensuring claims are handled in good faith.
- Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
- Conduct on-site inspections as required, assess damages, and negotiate claims with insured parties, claimants, and legal representatives.
- Respond to customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and close files as appropriate.
- Interpret and apply policy details, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages to assigned losses.
- Proactively communicate the claims process and status to all parties involved, addressing questions or redirecting as needed.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
- Experience in handling first-party and third-party multi-line claims across various territories.
- Ability to manage moderately complex claims effectively.
- Strong understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the claims handling process.
Licenses
- Valid driver's license required with an acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Travel Requirements
- Catastrophe duty may require travel up to 75%.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps.
- Capability to navigate various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
- Ability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to low and high temperatures.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Possibility of working in noisy or hazardous environments.
- Experience in small or enclosed spaces.
