Position Overview

As a Wind Engineering Manager, you will oversee a dedicated team of engineers engaged in various phases of utility-scale wind energy projects across the nation. Your role will involve managing engineering personnel, collaborating with project leads to develop strategic work plans, evaluating and approving engineering outputs, and representing the engineering team in interactions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of junior engineers focusing on essential aspects such as site evaluation, design foundations, energy analysis, risk management, and other tasks necessary for the successful development and construction of wind energy facilities.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor new engineering talent to facilitate the company's expansion.
  • Monitor engineering progress across a portfolio of regional projects.
  • Assist project teams in preparing engineering documentation and proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) to secure energy sales contracts.
  • Review project scopes, commercial agreements, and balance of plant contracts.
  • Engage with senior management and collaborate with colleagues to enhance operational workflows.
  • Work alongside various departments, including Development, Origination, Pre-Construction, Project Management, Procurement, Environmental, Legal, and Regulatory teams to support wind project advancement.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Procurement, Electrical Engineering, SCADA, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a representative of Invenergy LLC in dealings with clients, government officials, industry groups, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Willingness to travel, not exceeding 25% of the time.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including team leadership.
  • Master's degree or Professional Engineering License.
  • Experience in the wind energy sector or related fields.
  • Proven track record in managing and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong skills in engineering, organization, networking, leadership, and time management.
