Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Resident Engineer - Stations to serve as a key member of the Construction Management leadership team for major projects located within California.

This Resident Engineer position will bring experience and expertise to the project while working closely with the client's organization and their stakeholders, in addition to Bechtel's select subconsultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Inspectors on a project, coordinating closely with other Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, and Quality and Safety professionals.
  • Oversee construction activities for compliance with the contract, provide construction reports including trends and schedules, manage contract change orders, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development.
  • Assist the owner/client in ensuring that the project is progressing in an efficient and productive manner, is compliant with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and is being constructed within specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or international equivalent years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience)
  • 10 years of experience in multidiscipline facilities/stations construction (i.e. structural, MEP, Ventilation, architectural finishes, etc.) including five (5) years of transit construction as Assistant RE or RE, ideally for Light Rail projects
  • Professional Engineering license in one or more US States is strongly preferred, Professional Engineer in the State of California desirable
