Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobility Specialist to join our team at the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA). As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of exceptional customer service and transportation services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess individuals' eligibility for paratransit services, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client information, transportation services provided, and assessment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and personnel to facilitate the application and assessment process.
  • Provide instruction and consultation on the use of TARTA and TARPS systems, pedestrian safety, and community awareness.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts related to No Show penalties, ensuring a fair and equitable experience for all customers.
  • Stay informed about TARTA and TARPS system updates, as well as other transportation systems, to provide expert guidance to customers and staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social services, education, rehabilitation, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • One year of experience working in areas of habilitation or habilitation services.
  • Valid driver's license and standard First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of travel training practices, community transit systems, and safety procedures.
