As a Critical Care Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting critically ill patients in a safe and efficient manner, while providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical team.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation of Critical Care Patients: Safely transport critically ill patients in a Mobile Intensive Care Unit vehicle, while providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical team.
- Assessment and Care: Assess patient condition, patient-related data, and establish priorities and plan of care, while communicating effectively with the MICU RN and paramedic.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle, equipment, and supplies as defined by departmental policy and procedures.
- Education and Training: Attend internal and external educational meetings, keep current in knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies through professional journals, professional organizations, etc.
- Inventory Management: Independently assess inventory of stock medical supplies and plan accordingly in reordering of supplies and equipment.
- EMT Certification: Must be a graduate of an accredited EMT program and possess a current license as an EMT from the State of Ohio.
- Driving Record: Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license for a minimum of 2 years and an excellent driving record.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must possess sufficient interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel.
- Leadership Skills: Must have demonstrated leadership skills to participate in professional and community education programs and to effectively maintain good public relations for sponsoring institutions.
Works in a variable patient care environment, as well as an ambulance. Must be physically able to move about and work effectively in the confines of the ambulance.
