We are seeking a skilled Patient Financial Counselor to join our team at Swedish. As a Patient Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial well-being of our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing their financial concerns and questions.
- Conduct financial clearance and payment collection, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts.
- Collaborate with patients and their families to identify and secure financial assistance and sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office, with a focus on revenue cycle management.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic.
- Knowledge of reimbursement processes and health care accounts from insurance companies.
