Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plant Operator to join our team at Airgas. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our gas filling plant, including the handling and filling of compressed and liquefied gas cylinders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gas Cylinder Handling: Sort and inspect empty cylinders for defects, and prepare them for refilling.
  • Filling Operations: Fill gas cylinders with compressed and liquefied gases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Record and manage cylinder inventory, including tracking quantities and styles.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure cylinders meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a manufacturing operation, filling or loading experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets, and ability to work independently and under pressure.
Work Environment

The Plant Operator will work in a fast-paced industrial environment, with minimal travel required. The work space will contain moving mechanical parts and risk of electric shock. The employee must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees and be able to smell and hear leaking gas from cylinders.
