About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Parking Attendant to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a key member of our Parking and Transportation Services department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the efficient operation of our parking facilities, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operate computerized cash registers and collect fees and parking tickets, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Control parking of vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization of space and maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Report any problems or incidents to the appropriate personnel, taking prompt action to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
  • Handle minor complaints and respond to customer inquiries, providing clear and concise information and resolving issues in a fair and respectful manner.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to help colleagues when needed.
  • Respond positively to supervisor's direction and customer concerns, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of retail experience in dealing with the public and handling cash.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a parking program or a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of computerized parking systems and the ability to learn new software and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
